The Faculty of Education is launching its new four-year Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Educational Studies (BA EDST) program in September 2023.

Over the past ten years, our Educational Studies program has continued to evolve to more effectively meet the needs of our students. From its initial debut as a Bachelor of Arts in Adult Education and Digital Technologies, the program has undergone numerous revisions (including the addition of multiple options for specialization).

Our new four-year Educational Studies degree is a hybrid program, offering students the flexibility to balance a university education with personal and work commitments. The program consists of:

  • 22 required courses, from the Faculty of Education
  • 18 elective courses, from any Ontario Tech faculty

All Educational Studies (EDST) courses are offered online with a highly-requested hybrid option for core courses such as EDST 1000U - Foundations of Learning and EDST 1100U - Problem and Inquiry-Based Learning. Elective courses may be chosen from any faculty with available offerings, adding breadth to your degree and the opportunity to specialize through interdisciplinary minors. Courses from outside the Faculty of Education may be offered online, in-person, or hybrid, so book an appointment with one of our Academic Advisors to help choose the courses that are right for you!

With the launch of our four-year honours degree, the Educational Studies program now offers four modes of study
