What Our Students Say

April Stauffer – Applied Behavioural Analysis Specialist

Ontario Tech University allowed me to pursue my Master of Education degree, part-time, one course at a time in the evenings, so I could continue to work full-time.  The virtual classroom face-to-face program was very important to my success. You are able to participate in a community, collaborate and build friendships.  The professors are really good about promoting community.  We see each other on camera and work in small group discussions in breakout rooms during class.  The professors in this program are cutting edge in their field.  They also help you pursue your learning in the direction of what interests you.  Finally, the students come from a variety of backgrounds which really adds richness to the program.

  • Janet Young-Garner, Senior Learning Consultant, BMO Financial Group
Janet Garner"I just wanted to share with you that I have just completed my first semester for the MEd and loved it! It was a lot of work, but I enjoyed it so much. I have learned so much in one semester that I plan to share some 'MEd learning moments' with my team at work as part of our regular team meetings - I can't keep all this great knowledge to myself! Since we all have headsets with mics, the webcams and opportunity to chat, we are able to see everyone, we get to know each other and it's much closer to the face-to-face experience than I initially thought. It's actually very cool and I would highly recommend it."
  • Laura Morrison, Teacher and IT Trainer
Laura Morrison photo"What I've appreciated most in my journey at Ontario Tech is the focus on how we can revolutionize the learning process and make it relevant and meaningful for 21st-century students. I've been able to focus on this in my classes through deliberative conversations with fellow students and teachers and in the individual and collaborative projects we produce. The support I've received from the instructors in each course I've taken, and their willingness to engage students in open and honest dialogue, has been so refreshing and has been a huge motivating factor for me in my studies."

I've added so many tools to my teaching toolkit that really work in my classrooms, as well as web-based learning tools, which I've been excited to learn and am happy to share with my colleagues. I've gained insight into learning theory, which has given me new perspective on the students I work with every day."
