Hello! I am Victoria, a.k.a. Torie, a.k.a. science lover, a.k.a. your new counsellor who is so excited for camp to start! I am going into my second year as a Mathematical Physics major and Teacher Education Stream student at Trent University. This is my first year with the Ontario Tech Summer Camp, and my third year as a summer camp counsellor. I love math, science, puns, jokes, Disney, musical theatre, and camp! I 'camp' wait to meet you all!

Hi, campers! My name is Brooke and I am so excited to start my first summer as an Ontario Tech camp counsellor. This fall I will be enrolled in the university’s Faculty of Education as a teacher candidate. I have worked closely with children of all ages and abilities over the last couple of years and continue to be in awe of the curiosity and creativity that is sparked by hands-on learning. I am full of energy, love to be active and I look forward to combining my passion for learning, exploring, and the outdoors to create a summer full of fun!

I have a real passion for anything science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) and LEGO—I love getting to take things apart and figure out how they work! Hi campers! My name is Nicole and I just finished my degree in Life Sciences at Ontario Tech. I am excited to start the Intermediate/Senior stream in the Faculty of Education in September. I have a passion for science and technology and my goal is to get more students involved in science by having them participate in fun, hands-on experiments and activities. I am looking forward to meeting all of you this summer and hope to be able to spark your curiosity for the sciences!

Hello campers and families! My name is Laura and I’m excited to be returning for my second year as Ontario Tech camp counsellor.  I am currently an Occasional Teacher with both the Durham District School Board and the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.  I have a passion for hands-on learning and all of the amazing technology out there—especially Lego Robotics! I am looking forward to meeting all of our new and returning campers and I am excited for us to explore, create, and most importantly, have fun this summer!

Hello campers and families! My name is Kayla, and I am a Primary/Junior teacher candidate at Ontario Tech. This will be my first year as an Ontario Tech Camp Counsellor, and I could not be more excited! Over the past six years I have coached gymnastics and cheerleading to athletes aged five to 13 in Uxbridge, Ontario. I competed as a gymnast and national cheerleader for five years myself! I love everything about coaching and this is what helped me pursue a career as a teacher! I am very excited for this new chapter in my life. I look forward to meeting and learning from all of you at camp!

My name is Jason and I am an Occasional teacher for Durham District School Board and Durham Catholic District School Board.This will be my third year as a camp counsellor at the Ontario Tech Summer Camps and I look forward to meeting some new campers as well as welcoming some returning campers. I am extremely excited to be back at camp this summer and I just know were going to have tons of fun! I love anything related to Minecraft, coding and LEGO robotics so don’t hesitate to come talk to me about anything! I can’t wait to meet each and every single one of you!

Hey there, campers and families! My name is Danielle. This will be my very first year as a camp counsellor and I am absolutely thrilled! I’m currently a Primary/Junior teacher candidate at the Ontario Tech University Bachelor of Education program. Prior to my experiences with STEAM in my program, I have been lucky enough to have been exposed through my experiences as a Registered Early Childhood Educator. I have worked with children of all ages through the YMCA, have taught kindergarten for the last six years, and have developed a love for STEAM. I love being active in the great outdoors, especially in the summer. I am a passionate, energetic, hands-on learner who’s looking forward to exploring, engaging, and most importantly learning from all of you this summer!

Hi everyone, my name is Eric. I did my undergrad in Kinesiology and am currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Education program at Ontario Tech. I have plenty of years of camp experience and can’t wait for another. My favorite part of camp is getting to know all my campers and making memories that last a lifetime. When I’m not at camp you can find me playing sports, relaxing at the cottage or playing all different types of video games. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and am excited to see what creativity our campers will bring!

I have been a counsellor for nine years now, and have watched many of you returning campers grow in your knowledge and passion for science and nature!! I am so excited to see you all again and to meet some new campers! I am a graduate of Ontario Tech Faculty of Education (Primary/Junior) and have my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts. Hi campers! My name is Melita and this will be my first year as a Camp Counsellor. I am currently a Primary/Junior Teacher Candidate in the Bachelor of Education program at Ontario Tech with my previous degree in Biology, also at Ontario Tech. I love all things Science and have also been involved in the annual Science Rendezvous, which is hosted at Ontario Tech. Through my experience in the Bachelor of Education program I have discovered how fun learning with technology is, and I now have a passion for combining science with technology through STEM and STEAM-related activities. I also love the outdoors and animals and spend quite a bit of time walking my dog. I am excited to meet and get to know you and can’t wait to see what we can create and learn together!

As an educator, I have been fortunate to play and teach with lots of cool technology (spoiler alert - it’s all awesome). In my spare time you’ll find me cooking up a storm, enjoying the outdoors, or telling a joke or two (or three if I’m completely honest). Currently I am enrolled in the Computer Science undergraduate program at Ontario Tech University, and I enjoy learning as much as I can. Outside of school, I try to challenge myself with fun coding activities, and I enjoy creating short films. I can’t wait to help others learn some amazing new skills have tons of fun. I graduated this year from the Communication and Digital Media Studies program at Ontario Tech University. Most of my work experience is in school readiness and summer camp settings, so I already feel right at home this summer! Hello! I am a teacher with the Durham Catholic District Schools. This year I just finished my Master of Education at Ontario Tech University; it was an awesome program. I have been living in Durham Region studying communications, technology and education my whole life! I love the arts, music and everything science-related! I have worked at EB Games and Blockbuster where I developed a huge passion for movies and video games! I have also worked at General Motors and assisted with building thousands of vehicles, painting, chassis construction and body shop metal work. I play guitar, drums, trumpet and currently I am coaching a concert brass/woodwind band. I am really looking forward to having fun with you campers; bring on the Minecraft, LEGO and new technologies! Summer is here!

I am an Associate Teaching Professor in the Faculty of Education at Ontario Tech University where I have taught a variety of courses including Science and Technology, Health and Physical Education and Environmental Education. I am on the executive of the Science Teachers’ Association of Ontario and am actively involved in many environmental organizations. I have been the Ontario Tech Summer Camp Director for 12 years (since the camps started!). I look forward to meeting new families and renewing friendships with returning families.

I am an occasional teacher with the Peterborough, Victoria, Northumberland and Clarington Catholic School Board, and I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology; my specialty is our science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) camp. I also work as a gymnastics coach and I love to play sports such as soccer, volleyball, and tennis.
